Chatsworth prices its tickets by what you include and when you come, so there is no single “adult price” to quote. What follows is how the system works, the discounts that are real, and a plain answer on the ones people search for.
How day tickets work
A day ticket is assembled from the parts of the estate you want: the house, the garden, and the farmyard and adventure playground. Prices start from £10 and rise with each element and with the date, so a summer Saturday with everything costs more than a March weekday with just the garden. Tickets are sold with an optional Gift Aid donation; the price without it is about a tenth lower, and both are shown at checkout.
House entry is by timed slot. You can arrive from opening and go into the garden before your house time. Allow at least an hour and a half for the house route.
Booking online gets you free parking for one vehicle, which on its own is worth £7.50 to £10.
Guided experiences (house-and-garden tours, behind-the-scenes tours, bespoke tours) start from £55 and run from mid-March to early November.
The discounts that exist
- National Art Pass (Art Fund): 50% off house and garden tickets from mid-March to 31 October. Show the pass at entry.
- Carers: a visitor with a disability paying full price can bring one carer free. Select the carer ticket when booking and bring supporting documents (a PIP letter, proof of DLA, an Access Card or a Disabled Person’s Railcard).
- Under-3s: free at Christmas (children 3–16 pay a child rate). In the main season, check the child age bands on the booking page.
- Friends of Chatsworth: annual membership from £140, with unlimited visits in the open season, free Christmas and Country Fair tickets, and discounts in the shops, restaurants and holiday cottages. Three visits, or one summer visit plus Christmas, and it has paid for itself.
- Country Fair: children aged 0–15 are free; adults are cheaper in advance (£32.50) than on the gate (£37.50).
The ones that do not
People search for Chatsworth Blue Light Card, NHS, Universal Credit, student and 2-for-1 offers. None of these appears on the official site. Chatsworth is a charity, not a National Trust or English Heritage property, so those memberships do not get you in either. Third-party sites advertising Chatsworth discount codes are usually selling something else; if a genuine seasonal offer exists it will be on the official ticket page and nowhere else.
Christmas prices
Christmas at Chatsworth (7 November 2026 to 3 January 2027) is priced separately: adults £40 (£36.36 without the Gift Aid donation), children 3–16 £12 (£10.90), under-3s free. It includes the dressed house, the garden light trail, the farmyard, the playground, one parking space and, until 13 December, the Christmas Market. Advance booking is compulsory. The market alone is free to enter.
Free things
The park and Stand Wood are free to walk in all year, and picnicking in the park is free and allowed. The estate villages, the farm shop at Pilsley, the garden centre at Calver and the estate pubs need no ticket.
