Getting to Chatsworth
Sat nav DE45 1PP. Chatsworth sits in the Derwent valley between Bakewell and Chesterfield, 16 miles from the M1 and 40 minutes from Sheffield. It is easy by car, workable by train and bus, and best of all on foot from Baslow.

- From the M1: leave at Junction 29 (Chesterfield), about 16 miles and follow the A619 through Chesterfield to Baslow.
- From Manchester: about 38 miles via the A6 and A623.
- From Sheffield: the A621 to Baslow, about a 40-minute drive from the station.
- Parking £7.50–£10 a day; free with tickets booked online. There is no electric-vehicle charging on site.
By train
- Grindleford (5 miles away): Hope Valley line (Sheffield to Manchester). A walkers' station; Chatsworth is a long walk or a short taxi ride.
- Matlock (7 miles away): End of the Derwent Valley line from Derby. Onward by bus through Rowsley and Beeley.
