Getting to Chatsworth

By car

  • From the M1: leave at Junction 29 (Chesterfield), about 16 miles and follow the A619 through Chesterfield to Baslow.
  • From Manchester: about 38 miles via the A6 and A623.
  • From Sheffield: the A621 to Baslow, about a 40-minute drive from the station.
  • Parking £7.50–£10 a day; free with tickets booked online. There is no electric-vehicle charging on site.

By train

  • Grindleford (5 miles away): Hope Valley line (Sheffield to Manchester). A walkers' station; Chatsworth is a long walk or a short taxi ride.
  • Matlock (7 miles away): End of the Derwent Valley line from Derby. Onward by bus through Rowsley and Beeley.
  • Hathersage (7 miles away): Hope Valley line. Bus or taxi onward.
  • Chesterfield (8 miles away): Mainline station (East Midlands Railway, CrossCountry, Northern). Onward by bus or taxi, roughly 25 minutes.
